Maine Lobsters Invade Bayshore

May 20, 2010

At least that’s our hope.

Recently, one of your neighbors in Bayshore Estates, brought an intriguing idea to our attention. Church of the Servant is sponsoring a Lobster Fest on June 5th. Since they are providing and cooking up lobsters in town that day, they are offering to help our neighborhood hold a little lobster block party of our own right here in Bayshore Estates on the same day. How fun is that! They will make it easy by delivering the cooked lobster right to our Bayshore Estates Lobster Block Party! You can pre-order lobsters already cooked for $20 each and we are asking each family to bring a side dish to share. Have we hooked you yet?

Here’s the catch-(no pun intended) all orders have to be placed and paid for by next Thursday, May 27th. If you want to join in the fun, give the “Lobster Line” a call to place your order (910)-545-5378. YOU MUST TELL THEM IT IS FOR THE BAYSHORE ESTATES PARTY OR YOUR LOBSTER WON’T SHOW UP. Act quickly we are melting some butter now in hopes to dip with you later! Did I mention some of the proceeds benefit the church? Win Win…love it.  Check the blog next week to see how the plans are shaping up.

 What:Bayshore Estates Lobster Block Party

Place and pay for your lobster order with the Lobster Line 910-545-5378 before March 27th.

Date: Saturday June 5th

Time: We’re rolling up our sleeves from 4-6PM. The lobsters will be delivered at 4:00PM. Each family bring a side dish to share.

Check Out these Pictures of the Boat Ramp Cleanup

May 10, 2010

Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday.  In just two hours the area looked much better and we all avoided the fire ants! Enjoy these pictures of the day. If you weren’t able to join us this time but you recognize a volunteer in the pictures, give them a high five!

New Entrance

May 6, 2010

There has been a lot of discussion on the blog about the new entrance to Bayshore Estates. Many of you are quite happy with the entrance, the turn lane and the improved safety it provides but disappointed in the loss of a finished look with respect to plantings and landscaping.  A concerned resident has sent a letter to the DOT  to inquire about the landscaping. Once you receive a response from the DOT please share with us. The Fine Coastal Living Team would be happy to lend a hand in helping you. Just a reminder, the Bayshore Boat Ramp Cleanup takes place this Saturday, May 8th from 9-12. Bring your gloves, rakes, and trash can bags. This would be a good opportunity to meet your neighbors and chat about your future interests in the neighborhood entrance.

Date Change for Boat Ramp Cleanup

April 20, 2010

Bayshore neighbors and friends,

We have run into a scheduling snag with the Bayshore Boat Ramp Cleanup and will need to make a date change. The new boat ramp cleanup date will be Saturday, May 8th from 9:00 AM-Noon. After accessing the current condition of the ramp area, we will be in need of rakes, trash can bags, and a gas-powered weed eater. From the looks of things this shouldn’t take too long. Your hard efforts last year are paying off and making for lighter work this season.

We will see you Saturday morning, May 8th …and let you spend the next day celebrating Mothers Day with Mom!

Public Notice To Bayshore Residents

April 5, 2010

The below message is from neighbor, Mac Farrow, who works for NCDOT and asked that this NCDOT public notice be placed on the BLOG. Thank you Mac!

Roadway improvements at the intersection of Bayshore Drive and Market Street are taking place soon.  This includes signal and additional turn lanes on Bayshore Drive.  In order to accomplish this work the median on Bayshore Drive will be narrowed. Thus, planting will be removed and the Bayshore Sign relocated.  The work will improve safety and egress from the Bayshore area.  Public comment will be welcomed on site at 10:45 am. on April 5, 2010.

Final Update on Bayshore Estates Christmas Decorating Trolley Tour

December 9, 2009

I don’t know if it was coincidence but I went out shopping for a few Christmas lights this past weekend and was told by three different stores that they had already sold out. We know where all those lights are don’t we!!!

We’ve heard the neighborhood is looking very festive as we near the Bayshore Estates Christmas Decorating Trolley Tour this Friday, Dec 11th starting at 7 PM. As you know the trolleys have been full since November 30th. Please see the previous post for the final seating confirmation. If you have any last minute change in plans please call the Fine Coastal Living Team at 910-442-2030 as we still have 3 families on the waiting list. For those who have confirmed seats on the trolley remember we will be meeting for your appointed trolley time at the entrance to Bayshore Estates in the New Hanover Medical Group parking lot.

There is still time to put up those last few lights before we vote on “In Excess” and “Traditional Style.” The winners will be posted on the blog next week.
